Alloy Car Wheels
Alloy wheels are simply a wheel made up of multiple metals, usually aluminium and another metal. These days you want a wheel that is both light weight and durable. Aluminum is the lightweight metal of choice and by combining it with other metals, we can get a stronger, lighter wheel when compared to traditional steel wheels. Also, alloy wheels tend to be more corrosion resistant. Most of the aftermarket wheels you see today are alloys. People choose alloys for several reasons.
Lighter wheels improve steering. A result in reducing your unsprung weight. By reducing the weight, you also achieve a much better ride due to less strain on the suspension.
Alloys don't corrode like steel wheels do. Care still must be taken, but rust isn't a problem. Also alloys allow for a metal look to the wheels while steel wheels must be painted to avoid corrosion.
